About Dingxiang

Dingxiang County, also known as the hometown of Chinese forging, belongs to Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province. It is located in the northern and central part of Shanxi Province. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, the four rivers in the county flow through. The terrain of the entire county is in the shape of a dustpan from east to west. In the north, it is adjacent to Yuanping City and Wutai County with the extension of Mount Wutai of Jiangjun Mountain, in the southeast, it is adjacent to Yu County and Yangqu County with Wenshan Mountain and Xizhoushan Mountain, and in the west, it is adjacent to Xinfu District. Dingxiang County is 48 kilometers long from east to west and 36 kilometers wide from north to south, with a total area of 865 square kilometers. The government of Dingxiang County is located at No. 1 Jinchang Street, Jinchang Town. The branch railway from Xinzhou to Hebian and the trunk road from Xinzhou to Fuping run through the county. Dingxiang County is located in the Xinding Basin, with fertile land and mild climate, and is the main grain production area of Xinzhou City. According to the data of the seventh census, as of November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Dingxiang County is 193,997 people. From January to November 2020, Dingxiang County completed a regional GDP of 4.12 billion yuan.

Dingxiang County has a long history, with Neolithic sites such as Xishe, Hengshan, and Bai Village, which belong to the Longshan culture. The west and south of the county are remains of the ancient city of Yangqu in the Western Han Dynasty. In 2019, it was listed as the second batch of national agricultural product quality and safety counties. In July 2020, the National Health Committee confirmed that Dingxiang County was the national health county in 2019. In September 2022, Dingxiang Flange was selected into the first batch of provincial key professional towns list.

In 2022, Dingxiang County's GDP reached 7.95 billion yuan, and the total retail sales of consumer goods reached 2.757 billion yuan, growing by 1.6% year-on-year.
